commercial editing: finishing

 Today my group finished editing the commercial we filmed. We were basically done so today was really just going over the commercial . As a group we tried to find things we could fix/change. The first thing I did was look at the time. The time was around 27 seconds. Me and my group discussed speeding up or slowing down scenes. However, it was decided that shots did not really have to be sped up. So the main focus was on what could be slowed down. Me and my group first tried to make a scene (the ones with the pens) slower. This however just made the commercial longer than 30 seconds. So I just slowed down the scene so it was around 26 and/or 27 seconds. It took a little bit to get it to/close to the speed it was originally before we tampered with it. After this I suggested that we look at other shots and see if they could be made slower. Me and my group tried to slow down some scenes. However, this just made them look weird. After that they were put back to how they were before. Today I did not really make any significant changes to the final product (the commercial). Me and my group tried to see what we could improve on the commercial. However, there really was not a lot to be done. Because of this the commercial looks basically the same as it did the first day of editing.

Genre Research: Cinderella The Amazon Original

   Hello, today My group and I are researching Fantasy Movies so we have a better idea of what our opening sequence will look like. The first movie we are researching is Cinderella, made by Amazon.  The common sounds that I found in cinderella, was dialogue, and diegetic sound, along with singing. I did notice that in most fantasy moves it opens with some kind of narration, like a storybook. In this movie it did it as well, it also broke into sound and dance within the first 15 to 25 seconds in.  One of the common camera angles was a bird's eye view, so the audience could see the different movements the actors were doing as they danced. Another common camera angle was the medium shot, this was often used if the character was sitting, or if the character was eating, basically something that didn't require that much movement.   Props:     My group will be using a backpack, piece of paper and our product (Paper Mate pens). We will also be using a different type of pen (not the one we are advertising) to contrast to the Paper Mate pen.  Since we will be making our commercial about a brand of pen we will not need to have a lot of props.  Costumes:  My groupmates and I will all be in the commercial (be actors). Since this commercial is about pens (usually people are wearing normal clothes) we will just be wearing regular/normal/street clothes. If our filming takes place between multiple days we will make sure to be wearing the same things- so not to have a confused audience/have it make sense.  Schedule:   On 9/23/21: Our group will research any essential things for this project/commercial.
