production blog: continuing to edit

Today my group and I did more editing for our music video. Me and my groupmates decided that doing the editing would be easier to do on one laptop so that we could edit together. After my group and I got signed in and ready to edit we found that the music was temporally not working. This made my group and I unable to edit as the program would not permit it. Because of this the music was temporally unadded to the music video and will be added back later. Today the editing was mainly about making the music video 1 minute and 15 seconds. Before editing today, the music video was at 1 minute and 26 seconds. Since the music video was over the max limit some scenes and parts of scenes had to be cut. Although I did do some editing on the computer today, I mainly helped gave suggestions and feedback to Tasmia and/or Kennedy. This helped to form editing ideas and make the music video look better. Some of the suggestions/edits I made were, for the part of a scene where Tasmia points to me I suggested in order to cut some time out that this part be cut out. Instead, to just cut from Tasmia and Kennedy talking at the table to them walking and meeting me. In this scene as well, I also cut out the closeup of me as the music video was still over the max limit for this project. In another scene (where Tasmia is walking on her way to meet Kennedy) I suggested that a part of Tasmia walking was cut out (not the whole part but just some). I also suggested at about the same time as Tasmia that the shot of us all waving at the camera was taken out. After this, my groups music video was a few seconds off of the max limit. Because of this, I suggested speeding up a scene or two. Eventually my group and I decided that the scene where Tasmia was walking on her way to talk/meet Kennedy would be sped up. This was the only scene that my group and I decided to speed up. Tasmia and I played around with how fast the scene should be to not make it look awkward/out of place. We alternated between different speeds before settling on one that Tasmia and I both thought was right for the scene.
