production blog: starting to edit

 Today, my group and I started to edit our music video. The website/editing tool that was agreed on to edit is called Clipchamp. It was the easiest to use and was also a practical choice as Kennedy already had it installed on her laptop. Another plus was that you did not have to install an app to use it/the full thing.  The first thing that had to be done was getting all the scenes onto the editing software and put into the right order. One of my teammates already had the editing software that we decided to use so my group and I just chose to do this part on her laptop.  After this, I tried to get logged in to the editing software that we agreed was going to be used to edit so I could start editing things on my own. This was so my group, and I could get things done faster as my whole group could access the music video whenever and also didn't have to be working from one computer in class.  My teammate (Tasmia) and I had some trouble getting logged in and getting the video shared with us. I logged in and then Kennedy tried to send the video. However, this was a lot harder than I had thought it would be and took a majority of the class period. At first the link would not send so Kennedy had to send it multiple times. After this the link would not open and I discovered that Kennedy sent the wrong link. It took a while to find the correct link. After the correct link was found and was sent it took a while for it to be sent to me. I only received the invite when I got home. Because I had not received the link yet in class, I decided to help my teammates try to fix a problem (Tasmia could not edit after getting access to the music video of Clipchamp). So, I decided to search up why that was. Based off of what I found out Kennedy shared her email with Tasmia to see if she could access the video from account while Kennedy was logged in on her computer. However, this still did not work. So, while my teammates started to edit further, I tried to do more research on why me and Tasmia could not edit. Me and my group think the reason I did not get the invite in class was due to poor connection. The picture is a little blurry, but it just shows the music video before you click on it to edit.

Genre Research: Cinderella The Amazon Original

   Hello, today My group and I are researching Fantasy Movies so we have a better idea of what our opening sequence will look like. The first movie we are researching is Cinderella, made by Amazon.  The common sounds that I found in cinderella, was dialogue, and diegetic sound, along with singing. I did notice that in most fantasy moves it opens with some kind of narration, like a storybook. In this movie it did it as well, it also broke into sound and dance within the first 15 to 25 seconds in.  One of the common camera angles was a bird's eye view, so the audience could see the different movements the actors were doing as they danced. Another common camera angle was the medium shot, this was often used if the character was sitting, or if the character was eating, basically something that didn't require that much movement.   Props:     My group will be using a backpack, piece of paper and our product (Paper Mate pens). We will also be using a different type of pen (not the one we are advertising) to contrast to the Paper Mate pen.  Since we will be making our commercial about a brand of pen we will not need to have a lot of props.  Costumes:  My groupmates and I will all be in the commercial (be actors). Since this commercial is about pens (usually people are wearing normal clothes) we will just be wearing regular/normal/street clothes. If our filming takes place between multiple days we will make sure to be wearing the same things- so not to have a confused audience/have it make sense.  Schedule:   On 9/23/21: Our group will research any essential things for this project/commercial.
