Intro: Final Task

 Hi, it's me again. My name is Madelyn Cannon and over the past school year I have been learning a ton about media studies. Going into this year I really only knew about the production of a film from an actor's point of view. I didn't really know anything from the point of view of someone actually shooting or directing one. I have learned not only vocab but how to apply that vocab. Such as knowing how to do various camera angles and how to edit.  Although, I am a little nervous going onto this project as it is the final one, I am excited and know I am ready to show all I have learned this year. I can't wait to get started on the final task. Although it seems like a lot of work it seems like it will be fun as well.  Since this is an intro, I should tell you that I still have various interests and enjoy doing a bunch of things.  Some of those things are baking, playing the clarinet, swimming, learning new things and exploring new places/traveling. I also like being active and have done a bunch of sports such as ballet, gymnastics and Taekwondo. I did ballet for 2 years and Taekwondo for almost 5. I also love to read and open a book whenever I can. I especially like reading historical fiction and read many Magic Treehouse books when I was younger. I try to be organized because when I am not, I learned that I tend to lose things or forget about important events and/or dates.  I love animals and plan to become a veterinarian when I grow up. I am very interested/passionate about the planet/saving it. I often do things such as beach cleanups. And after learning about fast fashion and the negative impacts that industry has on people and the planet, I have tried to shop more sustainability.

 1.  How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? There are four titles. The titles are the movie name, and the companies that co-produced the movie. 2.What connotations do the images carry? (How do you they make you feel?)  The images are very colorful and change with each new title that is presented on the screen. This makes me feel happy and excited to see the rest of the movie/film. 3. How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? (Can you tell what genre the film is?) Although it is a little hard to see what the genre is, the movie still uses some symbolic codes that correspond with the genre. Such as, using bright colors and upbeat music. Genre Research: Cinderella The Amazon Original

   Hello, today My group and I are researching Fantasy Movies so we have a better idea of what our opening sequence will look like. The first movie we are researching is Cinderella, made by Amazon.  The common sounds that I found in cinderella, was dialogue, and diegetic sound, along with singing. I did notice that in most fantasy moves it opens with some kind of narration, like a storybook. In this movie it did it as well, it also broke into sound and dance within the first 15 to 25 seconds in.  One of the common camera angles was a bird's eye view, so the audience could see the different movements the actors were doing as they danced. Another common camera angle was the medium shot, this was often used if the character was sitting, or if the character was eating, basically something that didn't require that much movement.   Props:     My group will be using a backpack, piece of paper and our product (Paper Mate pens). We will also be using a different type of pen (not the one we are advertising) to contrast to the Paper Mate pen.  Since we will be making our commercial about a brand of pen we will not need to have a lot of props.  Costumes:  My groupmates and I will all be in the commercial (be actors). Since this commercial is about pens (usually people are wearing normal clothes) we will just be wearing regular/normal/street clothes. If our filming takes place between multiple days we will make sure to be wearing the same things- so not to have a confused audience/have it make sense.  Schedule:   On 9/23/21: Our group will research any essential things for this project/commercial.
