Final Project:Storyboard

 Scene 1: Starting off the opening sequence with a black screen that will have background noise of someone huffing due to running, leaving the audience curious.


Scene 2: The scene cuts to a low shot of our first character running in what appears to be the woods. To amplify this scene, sounds of crunching leaves will be added for a more dramatic effect. 


Scene 3: Another scene cuts in to show the lower half of the second person who is also running where it seems to be a playground/park. 


Scene 4: The screen fades to black again for the words “Pink Studio Presents…” which will fade in as well and stay there for a few seconds before fading out.


Scene 5: The words “TMK Corp.” fade in after the previous scene, replacing the words. 


Scene 6: Then the screen fades out and blurs in on an over-the-shoulder shot of a person in a library who is starting to approach a glowing object. The character exhales a “woah…” in fascination and wonder. 


Scene 7: Cuts to a close-up on the glowing object as the character’s hand reaches and grabs for the glowing object. 


Scene 8: For dramatic effect, the scene goes black with the presence of non-diegetic mysterious music. 


Scene 9: The words “Lost Causes” appear on the black screen in big, fancy letters with dramatic music in the back, this is the title of the movie.


Scene 10: Another shot of another character running as the music starts getting more dramatic and tense. 


Scene 11: Cuts to black screen continuing with the intensified music.  


Scene 12: The first character from before is shown, this time wandering around the woods. This is where a title appears with our chosen font. 


Scene 13: The character halts their movements after noticing something in a distance and starts running for it. There is a close-up of the object that is glowing and the sound of the character’s panting breath can be heard, showing that they were out of breath. 


Scene 14: Another black screen with music in the background, with words that are similar to a narration of a character’s thoughts. 


Scene 15: this scene is another low shot of a character running with intensifying non-digitec music as they run. Another title will appear in this scene. 


Scene 16: The character at the library climbs up the stairs, continuing their journey and as they do that, another title appears on the steps. 


Scene 17: zoom-in on the glowing object where another title will appear.


Scene 18: the screen cuts to black with non-digitec and mysterious music.

 

Scene 19: The library girl is zoomed in on and it can be seen that she has been running for a while due to the huffing sounds and is heading in a certain direction in the woods.


Scene 20: The girl from the woods is zoomed in on this time and heading in a different direction than the previous girl.


Scene 21: the girl from the playground is shown and there is a point-of-view shot of her running towards the other two girls.


Scene 22: The scene cuts to black with dead silence save for a few crickets chirping


Scene 23-24: all three girls come to a halt as the scene around them is silent


Scene 25: the camera pans up and reveals one of the girls facing a direction and seemingly focused on something (profile shot).


Scene 26: the camera pans up and reveals a different girl who had been running facing the direction of the previous girl (profile shot).


Scene 27: the last girl is revealed facing the camera with an expression of wonder. 


Scene 28: a split-screen is shown of an extreme close-up of two of the girls’ eyes as they face the direction the other is in.


Scene 29: the camera does an extreme close up on the last character’s eyes as they widen in realization


Scene 30: From the point of view of the last girl, the forest/woods can be seen with two glowing lights emitting from them, indicating that the others are near. The title for the director is shown at last as the screen fades to black.

 1.  How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? There are four titles. The titles are the movie name, and the companies that co-produced the movie. 2.What connotations do the images carry? (How do you they make you feel?)  The images are very colorful and change with each new title that is presented on the screen. This makes me feel happy and excited to see the rest of the movie/film. 3. How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? (Can you tell what genre the film is?) Although it is a little hard to see what the genre is, the movie still uses some symbolic codes that correspond with the genre. Such as, using bright colors and upbeat music. As this is a romantic comedy and is supposed to be more on the cheerful/hopeful side as well as giving comedic relief. 4. What conventions are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? Genre Research: Cinderella The Amazon Original

   Hello, today My group and I are researching Fantasy Movies so we have a better idea of what our opening sequence will look like. The first movie we are researching is Cinderella, made by Amazon.  The common sounds that I found in cinderella, was dialogue, and diegetic sound, along with singing. I did notice that in most fantasy moves it opens with some kind of narration, like a storybook. In this movie it did it as well, it also broke into sound and dance within the first 15 to 25 seconds in.  One of the common camera angles was a bird's eye view, so the audience could see the different movements the actors were doing as they danced. Another common camera angle was the medium shot, this was often used if the character was sitting, or if the character was eating, basically something that didn't require that much movement.   Props:     My group will be using a backpack, piece of paper and our product (Paper Mate pens). We will also be using a different type of pen (not the one we are advertising) to contrast to the Paper Mate pen.  Since we will be making our commercial about a brand of pen we will not need to have a lot of props.  Costumes:  My groupmates and I will all be in the commercial (be actors). Since this commercial is about pens (usually people are wearing normal clothes) we will just be wearing regular/normal/street clothes. If our filming takes place between multiple days we will make sure to be wearing the same things- so not to have a confused audience/have it make sense.  Schedule:   On 9/23/21: Our group will research any essential things for this project/commercial.
